Would I need a teacher if I started drumming?
I want to start playing the drums. I have played the drums on Rock Band (I know it is a big difference) but the drums are the closest of the rock band instruments to playing a real instrument so I can play a basic beat and maybe even some more complex ones. Would I need a drum teacher? Or could I just learn by using books, dvd tutorials, etc? Also, would this be a good drum set for a beginner:

there are a lot of good drummers that have never had a lesson.
but lessons never hurt anyone. depends on how good you want to be. just playing around with some friends in a garage? no lessons required.
want to go to university for music? then you better find a good teacher.
that set is ok for a beginner, but if you ever play on something decent you'll be extremely disappointed in that beginners set.
